MOA borker vs AMA insurance
Apr 18 2007, 7:24 PM EDT | Post edited: Apr 18 2007, 7:24 PM EDT
The MOA rally insurance broker, K&K, can not insure an off road ride. Since we advertise an off road 'adventure ride' we can not use K&K for rally insurance.

We will use AMA insurance. However, the rate structure for AMA insurance has a 'breakpoint' at 250. If we have more than 250 attendees the insurance costs will go from @$400 to @$800. You can see the specifics in the form you can download from the American Motorcyclist site. You can view the insurance sanction application by going here:
http://www.amadirectlink.com/organizers/resources.asp

Then - open the document named 'AMA Road Sanction Form'. You'll need to fill this form out and mail it in along with the initial sanction fee to get rally coverage.

Contact at the AMA for insurance questions is:

AMA insurance coverage was granted for the Big Bear Rally at Inn Der Bach, Ca. A copy of the rider, invoices, and receipts is stored in the Rally Insurance case. A copy of the rider was faxed up to Daren Dilts along with the addendum that lists 'Owners of the Property' as named insured. All the other insurance paraphenalia is in a 'Big Ole Sample Case' leftover from Ralph Dutras reign of terror as club president. It is large enough to hold all insurance related signs, releases, rules, report forms, and phone lists. Whatever you choose to use to store insurance 'stuff' will work out as well. Just leave enough space for paper because it is not a 'digital' process. Do you find this valuable?
